AffiliateOS vs CJ Affiliate

Affiliate network (formerly Commission Junction)

CJ is one of the five networks AffiliateOS connects to. Comparing them is really a question about layers — the network where your programs live, versus the surface your agent talks to.

The short answer

These sit at different layers. CJ Affiliate is a network: merchants run programs there, you get approved, and CJ pays your commissions. AffiliateOS connects to the CJ account you already have and normalizes its programs, links and transactions into the same schema as your other networks, exposed to AI agents over MCP and REST. You keep CJ. AffiliateOS is what makes CJ, Awin, Impact, Rakuten and Amazon answer to one set of tools.

You connect CJ, you do not replace it

AffiliateOS authenticates with credentials you generate in your own CJ account and reads through CJ’s official publisher API. Your approvals, rates and payouts are untouched.

Your attribution tag travels on CJ’s sid parameter and returns on transactions as shopperId, where AffiliateOS resolves it back to the tag — the same tag you used on Awin or Impact.

Commissions are paid by CJ to you. AffiliateOS takes no percentage and never rewrites your links through anyone else’s account.

CJ alone is enough if

  • CJ is the only network you earn on.
  • You are comfortable in the CJ dashboard and export reports by hand when you need them.
  • You have no automation or agent in the loop.

Add AffiliateOS if

  • You earn on CJ plus at least one other network and are tired of reconciling dashboards.
  • You want an assistant to search programs, mint links and read back what earned — in a chat, not a UI.
  • You want per-campaign attribution that means the same thing on CJ as it does on Awin and Impact.
  • You are wiring affiliate data into your own stack and want one API instead of several.

Questions people actually ask

Is AffiliateOS a replacement for CJ Affiliate?

No. CJ is an affiliate network — it hosts merchant programs, tracks your conversions and pays your commissions. AffiliateOS connects to the CJ account you already have and puts it behind one agent-facing schema alongside Awin, Impact, Rakuten and Amazon. You keep earning on CJ exactly as before.

Will connecting CJ to AffiliateOS breach CJ’s terms?

The design goal is that it does not: AffiliateOS uses CJ’s official publisher API with credentials you generate yourself, documents its sub-ID usage, and does no cross-account pooling or link brokering. You remain the accountable publisher, and standard disclosure rules still apply wherever your links get published.

Can AffiliateOS get me approved for CJ programs?

No. BYOC means you bring accounts and approvals you already hold. AffiliateOS can surface programs you are not yet joined to so you know what is worth applying for, but the application is yours to make in CJ.

Claims about CJ Affiliate were last checked on August 5, 2026 and describe how the products are structured, not their current pricing. Other products change — verify anything decision-critical against their own documentation.
